Meeting with Hideki Matsunaga, the head of the Ukrainian office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency

Today, we had a meeting with Hideki Matsunaga, the head of the Ukrainian office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA Ukraine Office), which resumed its operations in Kyiv earlier this year.

We expressed our gratitude to JICA for the support already provided to communities under the emergency recovery program and outlined the key areas of cooperation between JICA and the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, including:

– support for the restoration and repurposing of heating supply infrastructure in coal-fired power generation communities affected by Russian attacks;

– support for the construction of distributed generation in communities;

– comprehensive training programs for the leaders of the Association's member communities, introducing them to the experiences of Japanese cities in post-war recovery and recovery from natural and industrial disasters.

We hope for a productive cooperation for the development of coal communities!
