A working meeting was held between the teams of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine and GIZ Ukraine within the framework of the Power4Just Transition Project
The participants discussed ongoing cooperation, strengthening coordination at the regional level, and joint approaches to supporting coal regions. The Association’s team also presented key results of its activities and outlined further plans and next steps.
An important part of the meeting focused on the further development of international cooperation and the role of the Association as a coordination platform for coal communities. In particular, the discussion covered intermunicipal partnerships with European communities, strengthening cooperation with international institutions and German businesses, including AHK Ukraine, as well as enhancing community capacity in project management and international partnerships.
“Our cooperation with GIZ Ukraine allows us to combine efforts, bring in the best international practices, and build a new resilient local economy. Communities need continuous coordination, exchange of experience, and real partnerships that help create new development opportunities. There is still much work ahead, but we are confidently moving toward a sustainable future for Ukraine’s coal regions,” stated Andriy Tabinskyy, CEO of the Association.
We thank the team of Power4Just Transition Project for the constructive dialogue, systematic support, and shared vision for the development of Ukraine’s coal communities.
