About cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives with Oleksiy Kovalenko

Today, Oleksiy Kovalenko, Head of the NGO “Civil Society Development Forum”, visited the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine. During the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives related to the just transition of coal communities.

Particular attention was paid to the new project “Just Transition of the Ladyzhyn Community: Development through Participation and Partnerships”. During the meeting, the participants outlined the implementation stages of the project, the development of civic participation mechanisms, support for local initiatives, and the organisation of training activities for the community.

The project is implemented by the NGO “Civil Society Development Forum” with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).

In addition, the parties discussed upcoming training sessions to be conducted by Mr. Kovalenko within the framework of the project “Coal Communities of Ukraine: Strengthening Strategic Capacity on the Path to Just Transition”, implemented by the Association with the financial support of the International Renaissance Foundation. The discussion focused on organising training activities for communities aimed at strengthening strategic planning, developing competencies, and supporting just transition processes.

We are pleased to continue our cooperation and are convinced that our joint work will make an important contribution to the development and support of coal communities in Ukraine.
