Educational visit to the Czech Republic regarding the planning and implementation of the just transition process
The Deputy Executive Director of the Association, Oksana Tomashuk, is participating in an educational visit to the Czech Republic regarding the planning and implementation of the just transition process.
As part of the visit, members of the Association of Coal Communities visited the Ministry of Regional Development and the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic, where they learned about the Czech approach to the just transition of coal regions.
For Ukraine, Czech experience is important for implementing the RE:START strategy for coal regions (the Economic Restructuring Strategy of the Usti, Moravian-Silesian, and Karlovy Vary Regions), which supports business, human capital development, social potential, and infrastructure.
Among the practical aspects of the visit are familiarization with the work of wastewater treatment companies in Prague, visiting companies producing cogeneration units, and other locations that could be potentially interesting for knowledge exchange with members of the Association
The visit is supported by GIZ Ukraine.
