Grant Opportunities for Representatives of Coal Communities
Today, a training session was held at the Association’s office for project managers and representatives of local development agencies from Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia regions.
Participants discussed ways to strengthen grant-based cooperation between businesses and communities, analyzed the prospects and strategies for establishing and expanding international partnerships — particularly through identifying sister cities or partner communities abroad.
Oksana Vikhot, the Association’s Grant Manager, shared the results of the team’s work in securing grant funding for entrepreneurs from coal communities. She also outlined the key features and potential challenges that may arise when supporting businesses through the grant process.
Another important topic of the meeting was the development of veteran-owned businesses and the search for external funding opportunities to support them.
"Today, we talked a lot about the importance of communication, outreach, and informing stakeholders within communities. We agreed to continue strengthening our cooperation and to ensure more active and effective dissemination of information at the local level — especially regarding the free grant support services provided by the Association’s team. It’s encouraging that we share a common vision — both in terms of the importance of attracting grant funding and the potential for implementing high-quality projects in coal regions," stated Oksana Vikhot.
