How can we make homes warmer and bills smaller?
That’s what representatives of homeowners’ associations (HOAs) learned during a seminar on energy saving and efficiency, led by Mykhailo Melnyk, an energy transition expert from the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, in Sheptytskyi.
Participants explored:
✅ the engineering basics of thermal modernization;
✅ sources of savings and the sequence of measures.
A separate session was devoted to financial aspects: funding opportunities, state and local compensation programs, including the “Energy House” program of the Energy Efficiency Fund. Real-life examples of completed projects were presented, savings were calculated and participants discussed why investing in energy efficiency is particularly beneficial for HOAs.
At the end, participants had their questions answered, consulted with the expert and learned how the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine can support them in implementing energy efficiency measures.
💬 “Energy efficiency begins with realizing that we ourselves can change the quality of life in our homes. The main thing is not to be afraid to take the first step,” concluded Mykhailo Melnyk.
