“Ensuring the engagement of all coal communities in the region in the Programme development process is essential. This will help build a comprehensive vision for transformation, reflect diverse local challenges, and unlock the potential of each community. Such an approach lays the foundation for informed decision-making and increases the effectiveness of implementation,” stated Oksana Tomashuk.
The development of the Regional Just Transition Programme is an important step towards a structured transition of coal communities to new economic models, job creation, and strengthening the region’s resilience.
