Meeting with the Head of Zelenodolsk territorial community, Dmytro Neveselyy.
The Head of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, Andriy Tabinskyy, the Advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Валентина Москаленко, and the Head of the Department for Interaction with Local Authorities at DTEK, Viktor Dybash, visited the frontline Zelenodolsk territorial community in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where they had a productive meeting with the Head of Zelenodolsk territorial community, Dmytro Neveselyy.
The community is home to 20,000 residents, with the primary revenue-generating enterprise being DTEK Kryvorizka Thermal Power Plant.
During the first nine months of the full-scale invasion, the community was under constant enemy shelling. The majority of buildings were damaged, and 70% of the residents were forced to leave. For today, all residents have returned to their homes, and residential buildings and infrastructure are being actively restored. Additionally, the "Safe Community" surveillance system has been implemented, which has significantly reduced the risk of crimes.
The main challenge for the community is the issue of water supply and heating, which significantly worsened last year after the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The community is seeking donor funds to purchase the necessary equipment for a safe heating season. The World Bank project is underway in the community to provide expert assistance in developing a just transition plan, which is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
