Pavlohrad Community Joins the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine
The decision was formally approved today at the Association’s General Assembly.
Prior to this, Pavlohrad Mayor Anatoliy Vershyna visited the Association’s office. The meeting focused on the community’s key challenges and explored avenues for cooperation in advancing a just transition.
The Pavlohrad community of Dnipropetrovsk region is a major coal mining centre in the Western Donbas. For decades, both the local economy and the livelihoods of its residents have been closely tied to the coal industry.
We are pleased that Pavlohrad has become another member of the Association.Advancing the just transition process alone is extremely challenging. I am confident that the hands-on experience of communities already working with us will provide strong support to Pavlohrad. At the same time, Pavlohrad’s own experience will contribute valuable insights to other coal communities. This exchange strengthens all of us along this path. For our part, the Association stands ready to provide the necessary support to enhance inter-municipal cooperation, mobilise resources, and foster the development of local economies and businesses,” said CEO of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, Andriy Tabinskyy.
