Seed Fund 1 Grant Competition under the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative

Seed Fund 1 Grant Competition under the UK-Ukraine Twinning Initiative offers a new opportunity for Ukrainian universities to strengthen international research partnerships and prepare for participation in major European programmes.

The goal of the competition is to enhance the research capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions, support early-career researchers, boost international collaboration, and foster the development of strong research teams.

What can be implemented with this grant?

– joint scientific research;

– academic mobility, exchanges, and training programmes;

– preparation of publications and research materials;

– development of partnerships between Ukrainian and international universities;

– preparation for participation in large-scale grant programmes (including Horizon Europe).

Budget: up to £30,000 per project.

Application deadline: 16 January 2026.

The Association’s team will provide free support in preparing and submitting grant applications for representatives of Ukraine’s coal communities.
