Strengthening Partnerships for a Just Transition in Sheptytskyi
Today, we had the pleasure of hosting a high-level visit to the city of Sheptytskyi together with representatives of the British Embassy in Ukraine: Giulia Robinson, Christopher Metz, Tetiana Temniuk, Vitalii Opryshko and Svitlana Yavorska.
During a meeting with the Mayor of Sheptytskyi, Andriy Zalivskyi, we discussed the community’s achievements in the just transition process, including completed and planned projects, current needs, and opportunities for further cooperation.
As part of the visit, our guests were introduced to the work of the Agency for Just Transition, visited the “Nadiya” coal mine and the “Shakhtar” sports complex — a facility formerly operated by miners and now serving the local community. The delegation also toured the vocational center for renewable energy based at the local lyceum and examined alternative energy equipment installed at the Primary Health Care Center.
“The residents of the Sheptytskyi microregion have already implemented a number of impressive initiatives that are benefiting the community as part of the just transition. Some projects genuinely impressed our British guests. But most importantly, these successes have laid the groundwork for future investment and expanding international partnerships. We are grateful to our British friends for their kind words and constructive insights. We believe this visit is a stepping stone toward deeper cooperation,” said Andriy Tabinskyy - CEO of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine.
