Studying the Experience of Implementing Successful Projects
A delegation of leaders and representatives from coal communities of Ukraine visited Sheptytsky. The Association organized this visit to exchange knowledge and experiences on just transition processes and to explore innovative projects implemented in the city with donor funding and local budget support.
One of the key innovative sites in the working visit program was the STEM Laboratory at Taras Horodetskyi Lyceum. This facility allows students to master information technology not only in theory but also in practice.
The guests from coal communities also familiarized themselves with the activities of the UAV operator training center at Higher Professional College No. 11, visited the Chervonohrad "Warrior’s House," and inspected alternative energy equipment at the Center for Primary Health Care of Sheptytsky City Council.
Another key part of the program was visiting the Sheptytsky Vocational Mining and Construction Lyceum, which, thanks to the support of GIZ Ukraine, is equipped with modern solar and wind power stations, allowing students to study renewable energy sources.
Delegation members also had the opportunity to explore the functioning of the Just Transition Space (GIZ) in Sheptytsky in detail. This project is designed not only to provide services for addressing structural change challenges but also to create a platform for meetings, discussions, and the generation of effective solutions for the transformation and development of the Sheptytsky coal micro-region.
Studying the experience of implementing successful projects in coal communities is a crucial element of ensuring a just transition throughout the country.
It is important that delegation members had the opportunity to see everything firsthand, ask questions, engage in discussions, learn about the peculiarities and challenges of implementing certain projects at different stages, and establish further consultations and cooperation.
We are convinced that the knowledge gained during the visit to Sheptytsky will significantly accelerate the implementation of similar innovative solutions in other coal communities of Ukraine.
