The Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine at an International Energy Transition Conference in Italy
Representatives of the Association took part in the international conference dedicated to the global energy transition — The International Conference on the Energy Transition, which this year is being held in Cagliari.
The conference was organized by the research center Sotacarbo, which specializes in the development and implementation of innovative solutions in the field of low-carbon energy and the energy transition.
The event brought together leading experts, representatives of the Italian government, international organizations, research institutions, and energy analytics centers from around the world.
Participants focused on discussing global climate scenarios and the urgency of the energy transition, as well as resilience and security in different regions of the world. Special attention was given to pathways toward climate neutrality, strengthening economic competitiveness, and the role of scientific research, innovation, and international cooperation in transforming energy systems.
“It is especially valuable to learn from the experience of other countries — to see their approaches to the energy transition, solutions that are already working in practice, and challenges that remain common to many nations. Today, Ukraine is undergoing a just transition under the conditions of a full-scale war. We are not postponing these changes for ‘later’: the transformation must take place now. That is why the Association’s participation in such international discussions is so important — to develop solutions that can be adapted for Ukrainian coal communities, strengthening energy security and sustainable regional development,” stated Andriy Tabinskyy, CEO of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine.
