The final of the business ideas and startups competition in the Chervonohrad Coal Microregion
Chervonohrad coal microregion has a great future.
The final of the business ideas and startups competition, Demo Days, which lasted for two days in Chervonohrad, has concluded.
This was preceded by training and workshops conducted by the public organization "Tech StartUp School", resulting in the selection of 35 best applications that participants presented to an expert jury. Today, the names of 12 winners were announced, who will receive mentoring support and financial assistance for purchasing equipment.
The head of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, Andriy Tabinskyy, one of the experts who evaluated the participants' business ideas, shared his impressions of the competition.
"To say that I am impressed by the level of creativity of the contestants is to say nothing. Over these days, I was fortunate to see thorough presentations of truly very promising, competitive, and ambitious projects. Without any exaggeration, I can say that the implementation of these projects means dozens of new jobs and significant contributions to the community's budget. I am pleased that many applications were submitted by miners and that a significant portion of the projects already have their first sales. And this is just the beginning. With such talents, the Chervonohrad coal microregion has every chance for a great future. So I congratulate the winners and express my gratitude to all participants for putting so much soul, talent, creativity, and hard work into their business ideas.
I want to emphasize that some projects didn’t make it to the list of winners due to certain technical nuances related to document preparation. However, these are still very high-quality and promising ideas that have every chance of receiving grant funding from the state or international funds. Therefore, the Association will fully support the creators of these projects in the process of searching for and obtaining grant funding," stated Andriy Tabinskyy.
The business ideas and startups competition "Tech StartUp School" was implemented by Tech StartUp School as part of the project "Maker Movement, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship in the Chervonohrad Coal Microregion". The event is supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ-GIZ Ukraine) within the framework of the project "Just Transition of Coal Regions and Green Recovery of Ukraine's Energy Sector".
