The final training of the DIY4Change Workshop
The final training of the DIY4Change Workshop: Just Transition and Strengthening Community Capacity in Strategic Planning series took place in the Novovolynsk community, bringing together representatives of local self-government, the local council, and civil society organizations.
Looking back on the series, it is clear that the trainings held in the Sokal, Sheptytskyi, and Novovolynsk communities became not only a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience, but also a practical space for strengthening local development capacity.
Throughout the trainings, participants worked on improving community development documents, explored modern approaches to strategic planning, learned about opportunities to attract international grant funding, and discussed the use of digital tools and artificial intelligence in the work of local self-government.
We sincerely thank Oleksii Kovalenko, PhD, Council of Europe international expert, member of the Coordination Council of the Open Government Partnership Initiative, and Head of the NGO Civil Society Development Forum, for delivering this training series, sharing his professional expertise, and providing practical, hands-on support to the participating communities.
We also extend our gratitude to the representatives of the Sokal, Sheptytskyi, and Novovolynsk communities for their active participation, openness to new approaches, constructive dialogue, and commitment to strengthening the strategic capacity of their communities.
