We held a meeting with German energy companies organised by the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Ukraine) within the framework of the Exportinitiative Energie of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany.

The event brought together Ukrainian industry associations, representatives of the German government, Ukrainian communities, local authorities, and leading German companies working in the fields of decentralised energy supply, energy storage, solar and wind energy, biogas technologies, and solutions for critical infrastructure, including 2G Energy AG, Phaesun GmbH, Colibri Energy GmbH, Intech GmbH & Co KG, agriKomp GmbH, SFC Energy AG, WEESS GmbH, and VENSYS Elektrotechnik GmbH.

During the meeting, particular attention was focused on issues that are critically important for Ukraine – the development of renewable energy and the deployment of decentralised energy systems. The main goal of the event was not only to exchange views, but also to lay the groundwork for future partnerships. German companies gained a clearer understanding of the needs of the Ukrainian market in wartime conditions, while businesses, local authorities, and experts had the opportunity to establish direct contacts with global technology developers for the implementation of joint projects.

Andriy Tabinskyy emphasised that for coal communities, the decentralisation of energy supply and the development of alternative energy sources are among the key priorities of transformation.

“Ukraine will inevitably move away from coal — not only because of European integration, but also because many thermal power plants have already been destroyed by the war. Mines and outdated energy infrastructure are gradually being transformed, but this also unlocks enormous resources: grid capacity, industrial sites, and land plots. This creates opportunities for the deployment of new projects, including solar generation, energy storage systems, and other renewable energy facilities.

Thanks to decentralisation, communities have real influence and are ready to support investors locally by providing land, assisting with approvals, and helping to resolve technical issues. The Association serves as a reliable bridge between businesses and local authorities. We help investors identify the right contacts, establish dialogue with mayors, and navigate local procedures efficiently.

Today, we are witnessing strong international support from the German government, GIZ Ukraine, and the EIB, all of which are launching new financing programmes within the framework of just transition. Germany has extensive experience in energy transition processes. Direct cooperation with leading German companies will allow us to continue adopting the world’s best practices and implementing modern solutions for sustainable, green, and decentralised energy systems at the local level,” stated Andriy Tabinskyy.
