Presentation of experience in developing and implementing just transition programs in Dresden
The Ministry of Economy, Labor, and Transport of Saxony presented the experience in developing and implementing just transition programs in Saxony.
Germany is investing approximately 40 billion euros by 2038 to support the transformation process in coal regions and promote the creation of new value-added and jobs. To implement this process, a separate Law on Investments in Coal Regions was adopted.
The realities of Ukraine do not allow for predicting the full extent of budgetary funding for the implementation of the entire spectrum of just transition measures. Our path lies in balancing sources of funding - attracting private investments through special economic preferences for investors and extensive multi-donor financing.
Practical issues were also discussed, including the possibilities of using brownfields and mine dumps in construction and the necessity of scientific research into their composition for the purpose of utilizing rare earth metals.
