Association of Coal Communities Joins Development of State Program for Just Transition

The Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine continues to actively develop and implement social projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents of coal regions. Through collaborative efforts and partnerships with local communities and businesses, the association is implementing a wide range of initiatives focused on education, healthcare, culture, and infrastructure development.

One of the key projects that has received significant support and recognition among residents is the "Energy-Efficient Community" program. This program aims to increase energy efficiency in coal communities, reduce carbon emissions, and save communal resources. "The launch of the 'Energy-Efficient Community' program is a strategically important step for us. We understand the importance of conserving energy resources and reducing environmental impact, so we engage citizens in collaborative efforts towards this initiative," noted the head of the Association.

The main directions of implementation of the "Energy-efficient Community" program include:

1. Informing and educating residents - conducting informational campaigns and trainings on energy efficiency, promoting the implementation of modern energy-saving technologies in households.
2. Modernization of the housing stock - providing support to citizens in replacing outdated heating systems with more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly alternatives, such as heat pumps, solar collectors, etc.
3. Creation of "green" infrastructure objects - initiation and support of construction and reconstruction of energy-efficient communal facilities, such as schools, kindergartens, administrative buildings.
4. Development of alternative energy sources - incentivizing the use of renewable energy sources in coal communities, such as wind and solar power stations.

"Our goal is to make coal communities more sustainable and livable, reducing carbon emissions and ensuring resource preservation for future generations. We believe that collaborative efforts between citizens, local authorities, and businesses will enable us to achieve this goal together," emphasized the Association's chairman.

The "Energy-Efficient Community" program has become a prime example of successful partnership between the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine and local structures in implementing joint social initiatives. This collaborative effort not only contributes to improving living conditions for residents of coal regions but also fosters sustainable development of the industry and the environment as a whole.
