The joint event of GIZ in partnership with the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine

As part of the implementation of the project "Support for Structural Changes in Coal Regions of Ukraine," carried out in Ukraine by GIZ in partnership with the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, a workshop titled "Recommendations for Planning the Process of Just Transformation of Coal Regions" took place.
The event was attended by representatives of the Association, leaders of its member communities, and experts.
Discussions were held on:
- Establishing free economic zones in coal regions of Ukraine;
- Making necessary changes to legislation;
- Supporting businesses in coal communities by the Association;
- State Target Program for the Just Transformation of Coal Regions of Ukraine by 2030;
- Participants joined working groups to develop proposals for the project "Recommendations for Planning the Process of Just Transformation of Coal Regions."
During the event, the Executive Director of the Association of Coal Communities of Ukraine, Andriy Tabinsky, presented the Association's action plan for 2024 and signed a memorandum with Elise Vizhje on cooperation between the Association and GIZ.
